You are required to develop a detailed workshop lesson plan and support your plan with current literature (Part I). Your lesson plan will be integrated into a PAR 101 tutorial such that you will have a chance to put your theories into practice by teaching/preceptoring/mentoring the first year students (Part II). This lesson plan will detail precisely what content you will teach and what engaging activities the learners will undertake during the tutorial. The workshop is scheduled as a 2 hour 45 minute training session and is to be delivered as a single 2 hour 45 minute tutorial.
You will need to include an assessment component in your workshop plan to allow the learners to demonstrate that they have achieved the learning outcomes from your workshop. You may schedule a short assessment during the workshop, or alternatively schedule the assessment at a later date within a reasonable time period following the workshop. Regardless of the approach you choose, you must remember to include a rationale as well as supporting evidence and educational theories.
Workshop session topic is Extrication Boards
• Nil transport on extrication board/transport on Combi-carrier (times, appropriateness, etc.)
• Securing a patient to the board

andfound in the QAS Clinical Practice Manual. These resources can be used to guide your demonstration of how the skill is to be performed. Creativity, e-learning, m-learning and visual aids are very welcome. The first year students you teach will be thoroughly assessed, on the skills you have taught. It is essential that they are taught properly. It is also important that you use the correct procedures required for your skill. Penalties/deductions will apply against your grade for errors that occur as a result of improper execution by the first year students.
This assessment task is designed to allow you to demonstrate both your overall knowledge of the task at hand and the theories underpinning adult education and assessment. The written portion of this assessment task will assess your knowledge and application of the adult educational theories and practices that underpin adult learning and how various methodologies, including e-learning, can be implemented in a practical context to deliver the workshop to your target audience.
Using the colourBLUE, present a series of annotations throughout the workshop plan to demonstrate your understanding of the educational theories and the principles in practice. An example of this is attached separately in uploaded files. It is through this annotation that you will justify your choice of task/activity, etc. through applying the theory to practice. Please review the example provided to clarify what is expected in this regard.
