• What is affirmative action? (Be careful here. Calling it ‘reverse
discrimination’ will require substantial justification.)
• Give, to your mind, the strongest argument for Affirmative Action
and the strongest against Affirmative Action. Conclude by judging
which is the better argument. (Remember this is a philosophy class—
your positions must be backed up by FACTS.)
• Is there a better way to ensure diversity without race-based
admission and employment policies? If you think there is, please
clearly explain the mechanism by which this policy achieves this end.
