Abstract Proposal
Sheath App is a software with its application been on the android, web, and IOS
platforms. The product users are individuals with a smartphone supporting mobile App. Sheath
App is an internet escrow service product for the small business transaction which amount to less
than $1000. The product will be available in the google play store and App Store in the android
and IOS platforms, respectively. The product will be available to small businesses, and small
consumers intend to complete a transaction online before the product can be delivered to the
consumer. An escrow service refers to a financial arrangement in which a third party holds
money on behalf of a customer and releases the funds to the seller upon customer approval
(Kanaga, 2002). Both individual sellers and buyers will be invited to download the mobile app
and register to provide payment details. The mobile app will support other services, such as
linking buyers to sellers by advertising products on behalf of the seller. The product user will be
required to pay a service charge fee of 0.5% of the transaction value once the transaction is
complete. Ideally, it’s the buyer of a product will incur the cost of the transaction. Seller will also
pay a service fee for advertising functions.

The product which I am planning to introduce and invent is Sheath App. There are
several reasons for the invention and introduction of the Sheath App. First, there is an increased
use of smartphones in the last decade. Mobile computing allows for the engagement of buyers
and sellers at all times. The second reason is that social media and the internet have increased the
ability of an individual to buy products online. Many small scale retailers advertise products on

social media and invite the individual to complete transactions through their web. This has
created an increased risk of electronic fraud (Hess, & Cottrell Jr, 2016). Sheath App is, therefore,
an appropriate product to address trust issues among small scale buyers and products.
The project involves software development and marketing the product to the smartphone
and tablet users. The skills needed include computer programming skills for the development of
a mobile app to operate within the android and IOS platforms. This includes user interface design
skills to compete effectively with other similar products. There is a need for financial and
technical resources for the successful completion of the projects.
Human resources in the area of finance, operations, and online marketing will be needed
for the successful completion of the project. Other resources needed in the project are the
intellectual property rights to safeguard the pilot project and the actual product. Since this is a
startup product that requires funds to develop the product and penetrate the market, the project
will include a crowdfunding activity to raise $50000. The owners will have contributed $30000
as their initial investment for the product.
