Inclusion Improvement Plan(IIP)previously known as a Service Support Plan (SSP)

 

The InclusionImprovement Plan (IIP) assists educators to focus on their needs, goals and actions to facilitate the inclusion
of all children within an identified care environment.

 

When developingtheIIP an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service and educators aredocumenting actions to build their capacity to effectivelyincludeall children including those with additional needs. Children with additional needs for the purpose of the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP) are those:

  • with disability, including children with ongoing high support needs
  • from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds
  • from a refugee or humanitarian intervention backgrounds
The IIP includes the Quality Areas of the National Quality Standards (NQS) to assist services to inform the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and to use as evidence to support the NQS assessment and ratings process.

Educatorswillregularly evaluate their progress and achievements againstthe IIP and developa new IIP at least every 12 months. New IIPsmust be informed by the evaluation of the previous IIP and the growth in capacity to include all children.
