Case study/66 yrs old male.
Was admitted with complaining of chest pain while sleeping was diagnosed with NSTEMI a month before the current admission.
1 degree atrioventricular block
Post operative – coronary artery bypass grafting( CABG times 2)( left medial artery, left radial aretery to left anterior descending and left circumference.( That means arteries from left hand was used for grafting)
Past history- increase in cholesterol, hypertension, ischemic heart disease
Metoprolol 25 mgs ( betablocker)
Asprin 100mg
Atrovastoin 40 mgs
Frusemide 40 mgs
Spirolactone 25 mgs
Warfarin (dose depends of INR test)
I did my 3 weeks placement in cardio thoracic intensive care unit where we receive patients after surgery using mechanical ventilator, extubating,post-operative care, checking ECG and chest xray result, pain management, wound care of chest and graft donor site, removal of intercostalcatheter, removal of indwellingcatheter on 2nd day. Communicating with multidisciplinary team, transfer to ward if patient is good.
