Dawson Community College Initial and Final Momentum and Kinetic Energy Lab Report I uploaded for you everything. Please make sure there is no PLAGIARISM.Also, Please make it simple.Let me know if you’ve any questions. Lab 4 – Collisions
Setup directions
1. Load https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/collision-lab/collision-lab_en.html and select Lab. You may
need to grant your browser permission to run flash player. If you use Google Chrome, this can be
accessed by clicking on the lock symbol by the URL address.
2. Watch the lab interface video (YouTube playlist) and take a moment to become familiar with the
interface and how to manipulate/measure variables.
Lab directions
1. Collect data for 5 trials. For each trial, record:
a. The elasticity (choose 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0%). When recording the value for
elasticity, report it as a proportion, not a percentage. For example, .75 instead of 75%.
b. The masses, 1 and 2 .
c. The initial and final velocities for each mass.
2. For each trial, calculate:
a. The initial and final momentum of the system.
b. The initial and final kinetic energy of the system.

c. The coefficient of restitution, = | 2 − 1 |.

3. Answer the following questions:
a. Does momentum seem to be conserved? Note that numbers may be slightly different due
to rounding.
b. For which trials does kinetic energy appear to be conserved?
c. How does the coefficient of restitution compare to the elasticity?
